Team Spartan
Team Spartan was formed several years ago by a group of
close friends in Los Angeles
to honor family members they had lost to cancer. The Team takes its name from co-founder
Laura Sandoval's late father, Henry, who went by the nickname "Spartan" because
of the courage and spirit with which he faced advanced prostate cancer.
Team Spartan chose CancerCare
as a beneficiary of their fundraising efforts. To date, the team has organized
four of their own events, including a "Cinco de Mayo" celebration and a "Day at
the Races," which have raised nearly $4,000 for CancerCare.
