CancerCare is a national nonprofit organization that provides free, professional support services to anyone affected by cancer: people with cancer, caregivers, children, loved ones and the bereaved. CancerCare programs – including professional counseling and support groups, education, financial assistance and practical help – are provided by a full-time staff of professional oncology social workers and are completely free of charge. Founded in 1944, CancerCare provides individual help to more than 100,000 people each year and reaches more than one million individuals annually through its websites.
About the CancerCare Co-Payment Assistance Foundation
An affiliate of CancerCare, the CancerCare Co-Payment Assistance Foundation was established in 2007 to provide financial assistance to cancer patients who have health insurance but cannot afford to cover their out-of-pocket insurance co-payments for cancer treatments. The Foundation provides grants of up to $10,000 annually to qualified individuals for specific diagnoses and treatments. Current diagnoses include cancers of the breast, colon, brain, head and neck, lung (non-small cell), pancreas, and kidney.
