When it comes to raising money, every little bit counts. Some of our top fundraising teams have come up with some creative ways to do it. Here are some of the more innovative approaches.
In the past, Team OSI has organized the following pre-event fundraisers among employees:
Used Book Sale
Employee Ping Pong Tournament
"Counting for CancerCare" - How many candy corn are in the jar?
Yoga Classes - OSI sponsored a series of yoga classes and raised money by charging participants a suggested donation.
Employee Quitters Pledge - A handful of employees pledged to quit smoking and were sponsored by their colleagues.
Pancake Breakfast - Senior Management cooked pancakes for the OSI employees and charged admission for each employee.
Stache for Cashe - OSI's largest pre-event fundraiser raising more than $10,000. Employees agreed to grow their mustaches for a month and raised money through pledges to support their efforts.
Kim Pellizzi and The Butterflies
Annual Bowl-a-Thon - The team organizes an annual bowling event. Last year, the event raised $6,200 for The Butterflies. They charge a registration fee and sell raffle tickets for donated prizes. They spend hours bowling and enjoy food and drinks. It's a really fun event that creates a sense of team unity while reaching out to the public to gain support for CancerCare's Lung Cancer Walk.
These are just a few examples of what you can do to raise extra funds and raise awareness for a worthy cause.
