CancerCare
is a national nonprofit organization that provides free, professional
support services to anyone affected by cancer: people with cancer,
caregivers, children, loved ones and the bereaved. CancerCare
programs—including professional counseling and support groups,
education, financial assistance and practical help—are provided by a
staff of 60 oncology social workers and are completely free of charge.
Founded in 1944, CancerCare
provides individual help to more than 100,000 people each year, and in
2008 more than 1 million individuals visited our websites for online
support.
CancerCare of Long Island was established in 1978 to ensure that Long Island residents have full access to all CancerCare programs.
