Cancer changes everything for a child

And for 65 years, CancerCare has been there to help.

Children and teens who are confronted by cancer have special needs and concerns. That's why CancerCare created an innovative program called CancerCare for Kids. It's all part of the free professional services CancerCare provides, but one that is focused on the unique needs of children and their loved ones.

We offer practical support, education and advice to parents and caregivers, and counseling to children and teens to help them understand cancer. We also provide financial assistance to these families to aid with transportation, childcare and the cost of treatment. Families who live near a CancerCare office may also participate in our therapeutic recreational events that teach children and parents how to talk to each other about cancer.

As always, CancerCare for Kids services are free of charge and we offer services in both English and Spanish.

Professional counseling is one of the vital services that we provide families facing cancer. The counseling is offered to children, teens and parents in three different ways online, on the telephone, and face-to-face. All of our support groups are moderated by oncology social workers who are specially trained to work with children.
